The doctors are contracted to provide general medical services, but there are certain instances where they are asked to provide services outside the contract.
These include all insurance, employment, HGV, PCV and sport medicals, signing of passport forms, private insurance claim forms, private prescriptions or medical certificates and various others.
Please ask at reception for details, including fees charged, which are set in line with the BMA recommended rate. We reserve the right to ask for payment before preparing reports.
District nurses will visit the housebound to perform general nursing duties. They call at the surgery daily and work closely with the doctors and practice nurses. In an emergency they can be contacted at their Roselands Clinic base on 8949 9980.
The health visitors primarily look after the needs of the under fives but can also give advice and support on all family matters.

Psychiatric nurses provide counselling and support in the community for patients. Their services are arranged by the community mental health team or by referral from the doctor.
Midwives from Kingston and St Helier Hospital are attached to the practice. They run antenatal clinics at the surgery and visit mums and new babies when they go home from hospital.

If you wish to be referred to a private hospital we would ask you to bear in mind the following: To ensure that your appointment is at a convenient time you will make your own arrangements, allowing a minimum of three working days for the letter to be prepared and faxed to the hospital.
Private prescriptions issued by consultants cannot always be repeated by a GP if the drugs are unfamiliar to them.
Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants can help with minor injuries, dressings, removal of stitches, cervical smears, blood tests and blood pressure checks. Advice on health matters such as weight reduction or stopping smoking can be obtained from them too.
Vaccinations for travel or annual flu jabs (Sept/Oct/Nov) are all administered by the nurses. (see Special Services for other practice nurse duties.)
Health Care Assistants run sessions on an individual basis.
After consultation with your doctor an appointment will be made for surgery.
All doctors and the practice nurse can provide oral contraception. Coils (on patients who have had normal deliveries) and implants are fitted by appointment after consultation with Dr S L Chang.
